Reef Rescue Initiative Coordinator
Claudia has more than 25 years of experience working in conservation of coastal marine resources. She has a Master Degree in Earth and Environmental Resources Management from the University of South Carolina, The United States of America. She has a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management and Wild Life from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and a Licentiate in Aquiculture from the San Carlos de Guatemala University. Claudia has worked for organizations such as The Nature Conservancy, the World Wilde Fund, OSPESCA, the National Council of Protected Areas in Guatemala, and the Central American Bank of Economic Integration. She has specialized as project coordinator in the Meso American Reef Region, achieving important results in the conservation and protection of the coastal marine resources of the Region.
Reef Rescue Initiative
Business Administrator, with specialty in Operations Management, graduated from the San Carlos de Guatemala University -USAC-. In 2016 she carried out her supervised university internships, in “Socioeconomic Environmental Characterization and Sustainable Rural Community Projects”, USAC. Since 2012, she has carried out her functions as manager assistant in private companies in the real estate, industrial, environmental technology (wastewater treatment) and food packaging sectors; coordinating commercial, administrative, operational and budgeting activities. And at the beginning of October 2019, she became part of the Mesoamerican Reef Fund –MAR Fund-, as administrative assistant of the Reef Rescue Initiative -RRI-, her main functions such as: organizing events, meetings, contracts, expenses control, budgets and assisting the Initiative Coordinator.
