At the Second Biennial Meeting of the Mesoamerican Reef Restoration Network held in Belize City during the first week of October, the new Executive Committee for the 2019-2021 period was elected.<\/p>\n

The members of the newly elected committee are:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Guatemala: Ana Gir\u00f3, Healthy Reef Initiative, also elected Committee Chair.<\/li>\n
  2. Mexico: Anastazia Banaszak, Universidad Nacional Aut\u00f3noma de M\u00e9xico.<\/li>\n
  3. Belize: Lisa Carne, Fragments of Hope<\/li>\n
  4. Honduras: Gabriela Ochoa, CORAL \u2013 MarAlliance, and<\/li>\n
  5. Carlos Rodr\u00edguez. MAR Fund<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Another important result of this meeting in which Claudia Ruiz, Coordinator of the Mesoamerican Reef Rescue Initiative (RRI), was the approval of the Network\u2019s bylaws and its strategic plan.<\/p>\n

    Representatives of government, non-governmental organizations, academia, and the private sector from the four countries in the MAR region \u2013Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras\u2013 participated in this activity.<\/p>\n
